Grand prize winner, LFCC Cosplay Championship 2014.
1st Runner up, MCM London Expo Cosplay Masquerade 2014.

Diablo 3 has some gorgeous character and armour designs, so I just had to make the Barbarian as my very first Worbla project. Or, as I was called at Expo, Xena Warrior Badass.

Really enjoyed working with Worbla, it was a lot of fun to use and it turns out you can mould it into all kinds of shapes. So all the skulls were individually worked around Fimo bases, the pointy spikes on the breastplate were hand sculpted, and all the excess bits were heated and rolled together into horns, bones and studs.

Most people recommend smoothing out the rough surface of the Worbla by sealing it, but we really liked the way the paint went on and stuck to it unevenly - gave it a really wild look. Painting was done by hand, using an assortment of acrylics, drybrushed on in layers. An assortment of faux fur, D-rings and leather cord hold everything together.

Daily Deviation

Given 2014-06-20
As the artist themselves said, Diablo 3 has some incredible character and armor design, which the artist then skillfully rendered in to real life. Appropriate choice in back ground, wonderful angle, and gorgeously crafted armor!

You're welcome! And I know the feeling! Now I want to make everything out of Worbla (although I have now found out that attempting to make jewelry out of it is incredibly difficult. Lol)
